WOW! Forum “Rethink Your Position”

Wellness Forum “Rethink Your Position”

Katy Bowman, MS, biochemist and author, will present a WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum on Wednesday August 9th at 2:00-3:00 pm on KSQM FM (91.5) radio station.

In “Rethink Your Position,” biomechanist Katy Bowman is reshaping the way we think about health and fitness. She explains how making simple adjustments to our body positions can increase physical activity all day long, not only at the gym, but at the office, in the kitchen, walking down the street, and even while we're sleeping. Bowman emphasizes that our bodies are always being moved, even when we're “just sitting there,” meaning an alignment makeover for our everyday tasks can add up and make a big difference in our physical and mental health.

Best-selling author, speaker and leader in the Movement movement, Katy Bowman has been changing the way we move and think about our need for movement. Her nine books have been translated into more than a dozen languages. Katy teaches movement globally and speaks about sedentarism and movement ecology to academic and scientific audiences. Her education company, Nutritious Movement, is based in Washington, where she lives with her family.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health Wellness Clinic—Sequim’s free clinic. Our work is supported by more than seventy volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond. We would like to thank our 2023 Proud Supporter Sponsors: Jamestown Family Health Clinic, KSQM FM Radio Station, Olympic Medical Center and Castell Insurance.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5:00 pm. Individuals interested in supporting the Clinic may call 360.582.0218.
