Wellness Forum: “Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention”
Daryl Trowbridge, Victim Advocate & Healthy Relationship Educator Coach will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum on Wednesday October 14th at 2:00-3:00 pm on KSQM FM Radio at 91.5 on the radio dial.
This conversation with KSQM FM DJ Olive Martini will answer twelve basic questions plus many questions asked and unasked about how Daryl can interact with you and a victim of domestic violence and what you should know and understand going forward. Daryl says that it seems to him that, while awareness opportunities are vital for bringing these hard-to-talk about issues to light and then to be directed to where they can get help, get involved, donate money, etc., they can also be used to help know how the issue might be prevented in the first place. His advice is “if you see something, say something!”
Daryl has worked as a DV/SA victim advocate for 12 years and a community educator for 16 years. In his advocacy career, Daryl provided one-on-one advocacy, facilitated support groups, assisted with safety planning, responded to hospital calls, provided court support and more.
WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic—Sequim’s free clinic. The Clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Our work is supported by more than seventy volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.
