WOW! Forum "Domestic Violence Awareness Month"

Wellness Forum “Domestic Violence Awareness Month”

Daryl Trowbridge, with Healthy Families of Clallam County, will present a WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum on Wednesday October 9th from 2:00-3:00 pm on KSQM FM (91.5).

This presentation will address the importance of communities engaging in regular conversations about healthy relationships, domestic violence, and the social attitudes that promote intimate partner violence. Daryl will discuss how to help victims of domestic violence and will help us be willing to speak up when we become aware of domestic violence happening. Domestic violence doesn’t begin with physical harm; it starts with emotional abuse which is driven by the desire and need for power and control, which then creates the cycle and continuum of abuse.

Daryl is a domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocate and the prevention specialist with Healthy families of Clallam County. Having survived and recovered from childhood abuse, trauma, and nearly non-existent self-esteem, Daryl now has a passion for serving those impacted by intimate partner violence and sexual harm. As prevention specialist, Daryl visits Clallam County communities and shares information (mostly in school settings) that will hopefully prevent listeners from experiencing or perpetrating intimate partner violence or sexual harm.

We would like to thank our 2024 Proud Supporter Sponsors: Jamestown Family Health Clinic, KSQM FM Radio Station, Olympic Medical Center, and Castell Insurance. The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5:00 pm. Individuals interested in supporting the Clinic may call 360.582.0218.
